Disney Studios

The main reason film studios provide the public with films and this reason is to make money. Walt Disney pictures is a major studio and this is shown by making films of one of the main popular genres and this is family films as they offer something for all the family watching them. Disney are a major studio as they have made major hits such as; the toy story trio, finding nemo, the lion king, monsters inc, the incredibles and also pirates of the Caribbean.

Walt Disney pictures hasn't just got a film studio it has various other different companies such as ABC broadcast television network, cable television networks which are; Disney channel, ESPN and the ABC family; publishing, merchandising and theatre divions and also owns 11 theme parks around the world including Disneyland Paris and Orlando. Also Disney has different characters that they include Hanah Montanna, the Jonas brothers and the animated characters such as; mickey mouse, the toy story characters etc.

Also Disney has games, shops, live events, music and travel. The game sections reach out to young children of the family as they find them interesting and entertaining, Disney have online and offline video games. There are various Disney stores around the world, in places such as; the US, Canada, UK, France, Spain, Italy, Portugal and Japan.

In the travel section of the Disney business they have theme parks with holiday packages for example package holidays to Disneyland resort Paris. This will reach out to the kids of the family as the theme park is aimed at kids as they are advertised heavily on children's TV channels and programmes, also they will get to advertise them on the Disney channel for free as they own this too. There are Disney cruise lines as a package holiday too as these will be wanted by the whole family as the kids can go play and have fun while mum and dad for example can relax on a stress free cruise.

Live events that Disney hold are like 'The Lion King' in theatre in London's west end which will attract families down in the children's holidays or at free weekends. Also they have shows like 'Disney On Ice'.

Walt Disney doesn't have the film studios as they use synergy to make money in different ways and this will help if the studios ever enter into a bad economic stage where they have to go out of business for example, then they can make money from the other sources of turnover. Disney is a very big family based company, this is because they believe that it is the biggest audience for films, holidays, music and TV etc.
