Oscar and Blockbuster Films

Oscar films are different to the main stream Blockbuster films, these are because Oscar films are quite obviously make to get awards at the Oscars and they use the nominations as a way of getting money in at the box office.

The Blind Side is a Oscar film that won best picture 2010. It was released in November 2009 which is a regular time for Oscar films to be released. The film will have made a large amount when the nominations was released and then when the winners are revealed they would have got another gross of money.
